Happy New Year! .... I know, original title eh?

One week after Christmas....Mr. Wonderful and kids are finally done building the Kinex Roller Coaster. It WAS an advanced build, that just means the kids can do it in half the time the adults can.

Another crowning achievment for Casey and I:

My fortune for the New Year...OK. Definitely thinking of playing the lottery numbers on that one.

To recap: Christmas eve with Mr. Wonderful's parents was enjoyable. Christmas morning is always exciting, but felt really bad when the kids wondered why Santa didn't eat the cookies. Part of me was relieved that the kids know we are Santa. But unfortunatly, now they know what losers they have for folks. I mean who forgets to eat the cookies on Christmas Eve. Moving on..... the kids were spoiled, spoiled, and spoiled. Did I mention they were spoiled. Between Mr. Wonderful's mom and Santa, they got everything on their wish list and then some. Once again Santa threw up all over my living room. Christmas dinner was wonderful as well. My brother and his family came by, as well as my dad. I got to spend time with my newest nephew and we all know how I loved that! New Years Eve we did the Disney tweener thang. Since both the kids stay up now....it was safer watching 15 episodes of Hannah Montana than Dick Clark's Rocking New YEars Eve. No booty calls on the Disney channel. But we did switch over to see the ball drop. We always get chinese on New Years...and our fortune for the year. My 8 year old boy is also doomed in love this year....poor guy. Not playing the lottery numbers on that one.

As of today things are getting back to status quo. The decorations are down. We started back in on school. The kids are all bummed out, but I am looking forward to having something to do besides eat and sleep and play Clue. That may work for the cat, but I am a dog person.

Low Point of the Holidays: I miss the tree and the lights and the general jolly-ness of the world

High Point: My daughters Birthday is just around the corner! She is going to be....gulp....10!

Christmas Tidbits

My children are having this sense of entitlement lately...I DON'T know where they get it from. I am so busy trying to tie up loose Christmas ends they think they can run over me. Their mistake.

The best napkin folding site ever!

I am hosting Christmas dinner, I am very excited about this. I haven't hosted in awhile. I know I am a little too jazzed when I am folding paper napkins....

It's Jesus' birthday, the Nativity is up! And who could forget the timeless tale of Buzz Lightyear at the manger.

Special shout out goes to Nikki, who surprised the crap out of me with this Omaha Steak gift! They have kind of become the "golden steaks" We don't want to eat them because they are so good....hence my dysfunstional background.

On a teenage note. I am been having a blast "texting" to my message board buddies. Man it's fun.

Low Note of the Season: Traffic, Traffic, and Traffic!! Blech!

High Note of the Season: IT'S CHRISTMAS!!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!

Something to Pass the Time

Was watching The Biggest Loser finale (cotten pickin two hour finale! It was that or the Tsunami movie on HBO, and that was just breaking my heart) So I am like super pumped up to get my Personal Trainer Certification more then ever. Hoping to take it out of the Fit Kids money I earn this January.

So the children have abandoned digging to China in the backyard, for seeking buried treasure in the front yard. Either way, I don't have to mow wherever they dig. I'm down with that. It's really cute though, they have the metal detector that my son got for last Christmas...and they really think they might find a fortune. The inner kid in me hopes they do!

I have really enjoyed our Christmas break from homeschool group. I have been getting so much done around my house. I have had plenty of down time to. Trying to figure out the difference between downtime and depression. I am thinking as long as I get dressed..... it's downtime.

Irony is cleaning the coffeepot with the towel damp with coffee from the coffee one has spilled. Or maybe that is just lazy, but I figured the thumbpronts are gone and it's supposed to smell like coffee anyway.

Watching too much Top Chef when I am looking through my cabinets thinking about how to make a peanut butter and jelly canape.

Mr. Wonderful's mother came for a visit. She has filled my closet up with toys for the children. I wasn't going to stop her, but I hope she knows that we really are just craving a relationship with her. Well ,I told her so, so maybe for once someone will actually take what I say as what I mean. That's one of those drawbacks to growing up dysfunctional.

Low Point of the Moment: The continued lesson of trust that God seems to think I need to learn over and over and over. Who are we kidding...I do need to learn it.

High Point of the Moment: Discovered a whole bunch of flavored coffee's while Flylady'ing my kitchen this week (I still love to FlyLady she's the best) Mr. Wonderful is a coffee purest...so treats for me :)

Daily Diatribe

Sign #325 that one is getting older: One makes sure every bathroom in the house is equipped with a razor, as to shave at a moments notice one's unsightly mole hair.

I'll be dog gone if I turn into Aunt Betty. Scaring young children with a hair at least 2 feet long. Ugh...shaking it off.

Tonight kicks off our Church's dinner theatre. Expectations are high this year. Last year all 9 or so of our pastors dressed up as Elvis. Not sure how you can top that?

Been busy doing homeschool thingy's and girl scout thingy's..life is good. Really looking forward to Christmas.

Low Point of the Season: Isn't money always a low point lately. For those that pray, we are praying in Car insurance, mortgage, and Christmas presents. Yup, that covers it.

High Point of the Season: Mr. Wonderful's mother, who has been missing in action for a little over a year, called the other day. It was great to hear her voice.
